Celebrating Children’s Learning Through Discovery Since 1976.

The Growing Place Philosophy
The Growing Place Preschool and Kindergarten are designed to create an atmosphere that enables each child to grow at their own individual pace, through their own interests in a supportive environment.  The atmosphere encourages the development of self-confidence and a joyful attitude toward learning through a developmental approach that enhances the social, emotional, intellectual and physical growth of each child.

Goal of The Growing Place
The main goal of The Growing Place is to provide every child an opportunity to grow with new experiences in an environment designed to promote positive growth and development.  This environment encourages children to learn through manipulation, self-expression and sharing, learning how to learn, to explore and to experiment.  As children learn about themselves and their capacities, they gain control of new skills.

Children need exposure to all types of learning activities.  The development of self-confidence and a positive self image enables them to try new and different experiences without fear of failure.  A positive self-image and self-respect will enable each child to cope with changes, face various choices, develop independence and self-esteem, and gain respect for others.  Children need a trusting relationship with adults, built on praise and reinforcement for their attempts, and the encouragement to try new methods and means of learning.  An awareness of the world and the knowledge of acceptance should help to further each child’s interests, with a desire to learn and capacity to learn.  Through socialization, the development of independent and group work habits, praise and encouragement, the positive growth of each child is enhanced.
